Bottcher provides rollers for the entire line of Sakurai offset presses. Sakurai is known for the integration and automation of their presses and computer-to-plate systems. Sakurai manufactures presses that print one color up to six colors plus coating unit, and presses that range from the smallest - the 14" X 20" (52 Series) - up to the largest, the 28" X 40" (102 Series).
Ryuzo Sakurai founded Sakurai in 1928 as a specialized manufacturer of paper and paper products in Tokyo. The company began manufacturing presses in 1946 and in 1962 they were the first Japanese printing press manufacturers to exhibit at DRUPA in Dusseldorf, West Germany. Sakurai entered the U.S. market in 1963, and were well established in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East in 1984. Their presses are now in use in over 50 countries.
Bottcher rollers equip Sakurai’s most popular press, the 272 EPII (72 Series). This highly automated 20" X 28" two color convertible perfector gives printers the ability to compete against expensive multicolor presses when printing high quality short run process jobs. Its automatic perfector changeover allows for efficient short or long run one-over-one jobs.
Our rollers also equip Sakurai’s most popular small format machine, the 258 EPIIZ (58 Series). With almost identical features as the 272 EPII listed above, this press was designed with a maximum sheet size popular with American printers. This 17 3/4" X 22 3/4" press is twice as productive as a 14" X 20" when printing 8 1/2" X 11" format work.
The 72 EDII series is Sakurai’s flagship multicolor presses, available in 4- 5- and 6-unit configurations. This 20" X 28" half size press is automated with time saving features.
